Minerve Prophil posted another strong month in June and earned a $1,000 Good Samaritan Bonus check for her efforts. .
It was Prophil's second GSB of 2015 and she selected the Foundation for Advancement Technology and Economic Advancement of Mirebalais to benefit from the donation from The Alliance.
FATEM is a non-profit organization that works with people in the Mirebalais area (Haiti) and around the world to increase economic and educational opportunities, sustain natural resources while fostering the advancement of technology.
"We can't thank Minerve enough for what she is doing to help us," FATEM officer Richardo Bonachi Telemaque said. "The money goes a long way."
$1,000 equals roughly $9,000 in Haiti and provides for the needs of seven to eight school children for an entire year - including supplies, food, water and a scholarship to the school.
FATEM's mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change to benefit the residents of Mirebalais, rebuilding hope, providing educational opportunities, bridging the digital divide, and strengthening their capacity to improve their social, economic and environmental conditions. Note: Mirebalais is a small city located in the central plateau of Haiti, near Dr. Paul Farmer's Zanmi Lasante clinic in Cange.
