Mike and Michele Alleman picked up their second GSB check of the year in April and selected Bay Area Turning Point to receive a check for $250 to help the organization continue its work in Texas.
BATP is A non-profit; community-based social service agency providing a variety of assistance services including shelter to families in need and community education/crime prevention activities in the greater Bay Area and surrounding areas. It was founded in 1991 in Webster, Texas.
BATP serves Southeast Harris and North Galveston counties, which compose the greater Bay Area and Chambers County in its entirety. When safety is an issue, BATP assists people from any area. Its clients are men, women and children of any age who experience victimization relating to domestic violence and sexual assault. Roughly 98 percent of those served are women and children. BATP has assisted more than 10,000 people have been sheltered by BATP since its inception.
